Riding Opportunities

Horses and humans are intertwined, developing a relationship through transportation, companionship, farming, war, and sport. Methods of riding have developed through this relationship and explore the joys of athleticism of horse along with rider.  Boulder Ridge instructors grew up through the discipline of the Hunter/Jumper variety and continue to instruct beginning level to advance riders through equitation on the flat as well as over fences.  Boulder Ridge is home of the Purdue Northwest-Calumet Hunt Seat Team and teaches lessons to private clients. With 20 acres of indoor and outdoor riding space including trails, instruction begins with the basics and aims to advanced riders through a forward seat discipline.

"I can’t say enough good things about this facility and the people that work there. The instructors have a way of understanding people and what they need on a very deep level. Their horses do, as well. Coincidence? I don’t think so. Boulder Ridge’s horses are encouraged to be horses- to let their personalities shine and in doing so, be the best versions of themselves. This, in turn allows their riders to do the same."

"I learned how to be a true horsewoman at Boulder Ridge and to listen to horses, in order to create a true partnership. During my 2 years at Boulder Ridge, I had some of the best experiences of my life. I received fantastic and encouraging riding instruction, leased a mare that changed my life, and bonded with animals and humans in a way that I’ve never experienced before. I cannot say enough good things about this place. You simply have to go and experience the magic for yourself. If you love horses, go to Boulder Ridge and enjoy the ability to simply “be”. You wont regret it- I promise!"
